aprons

I made more aprons this weekend. This time I made some more masculine aprons. I particularly love the moustache fabric I used to create this apron. This is a kiddy one, but I also did a man-sized one. The other apron features kitchen items. Both aprons are in black and white and feature black strapping that I made, closing with black D Rings.

Doily Cushion

Look at the lovely cushion I made with an old doily. I used some thick muslin to make the cushion and then sewed a large doily on the front. Just beautiful!

hat pins

Just put a whole lot of hat pin collections on my Etsy and madeit.com.au stores. Beautiful hat pins can be used on hats but I prefer to use them in place of flowers. Flowers die and you have to keep buying more, they just don’t last in this Brisbane heat, so use hat pins instead. Here are some of my new listings. Which one is your favourite?

5 Quirky Cherubs

Today I want to show you the shop who stocks my goodies. 5 Quirky Cherubs is in Grovely Tce, Mitchelton (just off Blackwood St, right next to the Mitchelton train station), about 7km north of the city. It is run by the lovely Kylie. There are heaps of things to buy, all handmade by local artists.

Here are some photographs I took of the shop.  You can see my yummy items fit right in here.

Vintage Flower

I recently made this vintage flower. After I made it I found an old piece of jewellery and used that as the centre of the flower.

You could use you flower on a bag, or as a brooch or many other applications. I choose to decorate a vintage shoe last with mine.  I have also added a doily to the toe of the shoe last.

apron

I made this pretty apron out of an old tablecloth. I love the way it turned out. It sold first thing at yesterday’s markets. I am glad someone loved it as I might have kept it myself otherwise.
